Macys Mall in Atlanta is expected to introduce bitcoin as its payment option on its website.
According to the news source, customers can pay for items at Macys with bitcoin, but the company is offering a different option, called the Galleria Wallet.
Users will be able to pay for a large variety of items using bitcoin, including food and beverage, furniture, apparel and gifts, the article said.
It is not yet clear how many customers will be offered the bitcoin payment option.
Bitcoin is becoming increasingly popular as a form of payment in emerging markets, particularly in the United States, which has seen a spike in ATM withdrawals.
This is not the first time bitcoin has been introduced as a major payment option in a mall, however.
In 2014, a similar bitcoin-based payment option was introduced at the mall in Los Angeles, according to The New York Times.
As of June 30, the U.S. bitcoin market had an estimated $2.3 billion in value, according the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index.
Macys Galleries Mall is currently one of the largest malls in the country, with a total of 3.5 million square feet, according Bloomberg.
