A nudist business in New York City is planning to open its first store in a shopping mall in what it calls “a natural evolution of our community’s vision.”
The Naturist Collective is seeking a location in the Grand Hyatt Regency in Midtown Manhattan.
The space will be in an area previously occupied by an old liquor store.
Naturists have been camping in and around the area since the 1970s, and the Collective’s founders say they’re going to open their first store on Friday.
The Collective is offering a one-week-only event.
A limited number of discounted items will be available on Saturday.
The group is also seeking a parking space.
Its website says they will open at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The location will be part of a community-led initiative called “Bounce Back Naturism,” which is an annual event.
Nudists in New England have been doing nudist events for more than 30 years, and they’ve become a popular destination for tourists.
The Collective has been active in the community, including hosting the annual Naturista Festival in Vermont last summer.
The Nudists Collective has not yet revealed how much it is planning for the space.
