Business Insider has the latest on the new burger from Glendale Galleria in California, where chef Mike D’Antonio, who runs the popular restaurant, has created a new, much-hyped grilled cheese and cheese plate.
The restaurant debuted the menu to coincide with a special event with Chef Mike Darmonio at his restaurant, the Glendale, on Tuesday.
Darmonios wife, Emily Darmons husband, was in attendance at the event, as well as his two sons, Luke and Lucas, and his wife, Ashley.
It was an occasion to celebrate the couple’s wedding anniversary.
While some of the menu items have been available at the restaurant for several years, the new plates were something completely new, with more than 10 different cheese types, including fresh-squeezed cheese, fresh-roasted cheese, mozzarella, and a new cheese called “Lemonade”.
The restaurant has also added a selection of vegan options, including vegetarian cheese, cheese made with a vegan protein, vegan tofu, and vegan chicken.
The menu item with the most buzz is the “Cheddar & Chorizo” cheese plate, which features a “sliced-up, creamy cheese with chorizo, mozza, and cheddar on a soft roll” along with a “chocolate-covered crumb.”
Darmontios wife says it’s a “must try” for those looking for a new way to indulge in cheese and other creamy cheese, as she explains.
“The only thing better than a big slab of grilled cheese is a small slice of the best cheese you’ve ever had,” she writes.
Dartmouth, Massachusetts-based Glendale Gourmet and Darmondas son, Luke, also attended the event.
Luke says the new menu will be “a big hit,” adding, “We’re very excited for the new Glendale” and “will be a big fan of the new product.”
The company will be launching in New York City, as it has done in other cities, in April.
