HOUSTON — You’ve probably never heard of this new Houston restaurant.
It’s called Sims Gallery, and it’s a steakhouse in the heart of downtown.
It opens its doors this weekend, and when it does, it will be serving the same steak you’ll find at other Houston steakhouses.
The steakhouse is a departure for the city’s newest steakhouse, the Galleria, which opened in July.
Its owners say the Sims Gallery concept is a step in the right direction, but it’s also something different.
“We’re not trying to compete with other steakhouse chains,” said Mark W. Martin, the chef and owner of Sims Gallery.
Sims Gallery has its own signature steak, which it will only sell to patrons who are 21 and older.
The restaurant will also be selling its signature beef sub, a steamed bun of the cut of beef you find in steakhouses across the country.
The Sims Gallery also has a wine bar, which is an option for those who are looking for a different type of wine.
The kitchen is set up for a small kitchen, so it’ll be able to serve up some really nice steak and have people bring their own plates of food.
It’s the first steakhouse to open in Houston since the Galleries opened, and the restaurant is expected to open its doors to the public this weekend.
