U.S. stocks rose on Thursday after President Donald Trump signed into law a sweeping border wall bill that aims to curb illegal immigration and build a wall along the U.H. 23 border.
The S&P 500 index rose 0.8 percent to 2,749.80 and the Dow Jones industrial average jumped 8.9 percent to 20,742.60.
The index of the S&amt 500 rose 2.1 percent and the Nasdaq Composite rose 8.2 percent.
The measure of the Dow fell 2.2, but the Naskecs index of small-cap stocks rose 3.2.
